Seriously, even part of their published "Business Model", the same thing corporations use to borrow capital, includes as part of their Revenue declarations and Profit making strategy a section citing the industry wide accepted statistic that upwards of 40% of all recipients forget to use the cards at all, and this profit does directly in the card issuer's cash drawer. If the card is for $200, then they just profited $200 40% of the time. It's just staggering! And think about it; who buys a Gift Card for $2, or $3 bucks? Nobody. A typical Gift Card purchase amount is $50 dollars. And it just goes up from there. 😲
If I sold (1000) $50 Gift Cards, and 40% of those recipients space off using them, then I just made $20,000 bucks without lifting a finger! And how many Gift Cards do you think people buy for Home Depot, or Starbucks, or Red Lobster each Christmas? Millions, right? Wow!!
