When I watched this segment of the movie, it is so relevant now, I had to believe that scene was timeless. It applies so well to these times it is crazy, and if people did this, shout out their windows, things will change. I watched it twice and smiled while it almost brought a tear to my eyes.
Watch the whole movie!! It's enlightening. It basically tells the story of the times we live in today, though it was made 49 years ago today! The ending is especially relevant, especially the final line.
It's a hard movie to watch. It was hard then, and it's hard now, for the same reasons...it's so real. It really makes you want to go out on your balcony, or open your window, and scream..."I'm Mad as Hell, and I'm not gonna' take it anymore!!"
I've always felt if the people of America started screaming this...everywhere, all the time...that the government would have no choice but to change. I felt it very strongly then, and I still feel it now!
You know, I thank you for bringing up this clip (and movie reference) because quite honestly I'd forgotten about it. Now it is fresh in my mind again. I remember back then how all the "authorities" and "critics" tried to downplay the movie like it was satirical garbage. It wasn't; it was real (and they very well knew it)!! It didn't fit the 'narrative' (and they knew that too)!!
