I used to buy gift cards at stores until I found out somehow scammers are able to copy the numbers and activate the cards online. Since then I've stuck to bank Visa cards and haven't ever run into a problem in the last decade.

It's about the only option I have for shopping now, since postal rates have become to prohibitive for mailing items.

I'll just have to hope my luck holds out.
