The manuscript has a lot of drawings with organic looking tubes. There is also the concept of "openers" in herbal medicine, which sounds pretty vague to me.
Nevertheless, "openers" may be a clue to understanding.
Earlier in the thread I posted a quote from forgottenlanguages dot org here: post where the term "openers" is used.
(smile) tubes + openers, get it?
My odd humour aside. I thought herbs as openers would open the tubes.
So, as I have had this annoying sinus congestion left over from covid for months, I thought I would pick up a pendulum and do some diagnostic work. If my sinuses are blocked, it makes sense to think of openers as a part of a treatment regime, instead of reaching for a quick fix from the pharmacist's shop.
Out of my herb garden, and pantry, the pendulum selected rosemary as an appropriate opener in my case. So boil the kettle and inhale the steam of rosemary tea.
It works of course, one doesn't need to be a herbalist to know inhaled herbs help relieve sinus congestion. Menthol would probably have worked too to open the sinus. However, the pendulum selected rosemary.
In material medicine, we think of blood vessels and lymphatic as tubes. We can also add nerves and similar body parts. The gastrointestinal is a tube, along with the urethra. The proper function of these tubes would all be very much a case of open and closed. Our arteries get clogged with cholesterol with old age.
I'll keep treating myself with rosemary with the view of opening tubes. I shall also think in terms of expanding the treatment.
We have a dowsing thread here on Cypher Age by the way.

Quote:A passage containing a list of “openers” can be perceived similarly
in the eyes of a physician: knowledge of the properties of a plant may be
sufficient for the preparation of a medicine based on a list of plants:
