I'm exempt from any 'nice' taxes. Back in my CB radio days it was not unusual to hear some whiney trucker call me Nasty Nugget.
I wear the moniker proudly.  Biggrin

Thought I'd put in a post on my own introduction thread and turn this into a soapbox to preach from and provoke arguments, like TL has done with his introduction thread.

Let me see. Firstly, I joined MPP because I was invited, not because I saw the link in someone's profile and thought I could stir things up here.

Secondly, I also like the new domain name Cypher age, although I thought it said cyber-rage when I first read it. Judging by TL's intro posts, cyber-rage might suit him more since he had to be critical about the name change. He said if this forum started with this new name, he never would have joined in the first place. I am the opposite and would have joined earlier, not much later.

Lastly, I thought that Mud Pit Politics was like the Mud Pit on ATS, and that had me turn it down the first time this forum was introduced to me way back then. It was only more recently that I joined due to the fall of ATS and the slowdown in other forums I am a member of. I didn't want to troll political threads; that wasn't my motivation for joining MPP, AKA Cypherage, and I didn't have any excuses to disguise my intentions for being here. I'm not here to provoke anyone by representing anything right or wrong like some contrarian playing the Devil's advocate.

So, I'm not here pretending to determine "facts" or claiming to be here to find common ground with opposing ideas while merely causing trouble and stirring things up. Nope, I'm here to find information that isn't available in most other places online.

I think most people joined for the same reasons you listed. Occasionally, someone will come along who is so insecure in their own self worth that being argumentative and disruptive to get attentionmakes them feel valued.....or something like that.  Biggrin

What's the worst thing you can do to people who go out of their way to spread chaos? Ignore them. No response erases the very foundtion of their world.

I wish there was a way to help these types of people integrate into society, but there doesn't seem to be one that I've ever found. When someone is 100% convinced that they're right and the rest of the world is wrong it leaves nothing to work with.

I'm glad yougave this  site a chance. I've always enjoyed your posts on the other site and it's great to see familiar faces again!

Lightly moderated and censorship resistant means everyone has access to a soapbox... and more than enough rope to hang themselves like a piñata from on top of it with.

If somebody makes a habit of the latter, they should expect that I will occasionally hit them with a stick to see if any candy falls out.

It's nothing personal against the piñata. It's just the festive nature of our ancient forum culture.
