Until I clicked back to it a few times and just busted out laughing. My wife looked over and asked what the heck I was giggling so hard about? She realized what she was looking at, put 2+2 together, and next thing you know we were BOTH ROFL about it! THAT is GREAT!!! (Some days, I just KNOW that is my office!!)

On a little more scientific note, that lightning picture is interesting.
The picture illustrates a 'ground to cloud' strike, meaning the lightning bolt originated on the ground and went "up" to the clouds, not the other way around. Ground to Cloud (or GC) represents only about 10-20% of all lightning strikes. GC lightning is pretty unusual, and there's usually something unusual which causes it. Interestingly, lightning can be either AC or DC in nature, and it can also be positive + voltage, or negative - voltage. But, there's almost always a very large 'potential' at the originating end of the lightning, whether it be + or -, or AC or DC. Given the picture is a GC lightning bolt, it would be interesting to know what's inside that office!! Of course, aside from the electrical properties of lightning stated here, I am also assuming the picture is actually real. If it's not real, then you can disregard. |
